Protecting our 26 million customers has never been more important. Our Risk function teams are leading the way by identifying threats, from market instability to cyber attacks and financial crime. We’re now looking for new talent to join them.
If you want variety and exposure to each corner of the Risk function, we would strongly encourage you to consider this programme. The great news is that you don’t even need a business or finance degree!

If the answer is yes, Risk could be the perfect choice for you. Using intelligence and a host of sophisticated technologies – including robotics and cognitive computing – the work we do in Risk is all about helping colleagues across the Group make the right decisions for our customers.
Join us here and over two years, you’ll complete four six-month placements – each focusing on a different aspect of our work. Together, they'll give you a holistic view of risk management, and the role it plays within the Group.
You'll learn how we analyse and assess risk to forecast future performance. You’ll get to grips with the frameworks we have in place to combat fraud and financial crime. You'll get hands-on with sophisticated data modelling techniques that help us tease out the value in information, and on one placement, dive deeper into a particular area, like sustainability and climate risk.
Along the way, you'll also be developing all-important personal effectiveness and leadership capabilities. So by the end of the programme, you'll have everything you need to progress your career – either in a generalist risk management role or along whichever specialist path you choose.

Simplifying our risk management processes using Robotics and Artificial Intelligence
Creating bespoke strategies to help our commercial clients
Supporting our work on fraud and financial crime prevention
A 2:2 degree or above in any discipline from any university.
Our graduate schemes are rotational, but most of our Risk roles are based in our Edinburgh, London and West Yorkshire hubs with some placements available in Birmingham and Cardiff.
