Training and development

At Lloyds Banking Group we’ll do all we can to help you discover more about yourself and what you want to achieve in your future career.

Developing from day to day

Our internships are designed to inspire you to develop as a person and a professional. You’ll be surrounded by people who can offer a wealth of knowledge and experience, so we’ll encourage you to seek them out, tap into the resources around you, and make the most of a variety of learning opportunities. As well as on-the-job development within your teams and support from your manager, you’ll also have access to:

  • Mentoring opportunities
Seek advice and get answers to any questions you have about our business, your development, and more. There’ll be many opportunities for you to receive mentoring from managers and colleagues.

  • Digital Espressos and TED-style talks
These inspiration sessions are internally run and delivered by senior thought leaders and experts. Discover the latest trends and innovations in digital and FinTech (financial technology), inside and outside banking.

  • Helping Britain Prosper Challenge
Help us support people, businesses and communities around the UK through the Helping Britain Prosper Challenge. Alongside other graduates and interns, take on a business initiative to raise funds for a UK-wide charity.

  • Leadership Academy
Learn about leadership and customer engagement, or communication and negotiation skills, through these technical and professional online courses. There are extra reading materials and development tools available too, to help the ideas stick.

  • Digital Academy
If you want to develop your digital skills, or are interested in cyber security, analytics or other digital topics, explore our online resource of courses and reading materials.

  • Innovation Labs
Get involved in testing some of the latest customer propositions, products and services before they go live. By taking part in workshops, surveys or using new app prototypes, you’ll help shape our digital future.

  • Diversity networks
Receive support through our Breakthrough women’s network, our Access Disability network, our Rainbow LGBT network, our Family Matters group, and our race, ethnicity and cultural heritage network, Reach. Through these you can attend workshops, talks, and networking sessions.

Our fantastic training opportunities have helped us become a one of Rate My Placement’s Top 100 Undergraduate Employers, as well as a Times Top 100 Graduate Employer. This means we’re recognised for helping people like you at every stage of your career to discover who you are, what you’re good at and how you could become one of our leaders of the future.
