Autumn 2022

£27,819 (£32,454 in London)

Edinburgh, London, Leeds and Cardiff (office-based 2-3 days per week)

Once you’ve successfully completed your apprenticeship, you’ll be a proficient Software Engineer and be given the opportunity to undertake an apprenticeship degree.

Are you one of our engineers of the future?

Do you love analysing and solving problems? Are you fascinated by the newest tech? Do you dream of creating next-generation software with the backing of an expert team? Do you have an interest in coding? Are you a strong communicator and a great team player? Someone who’s always keen to learn and develop?

If this sounds exciting, then the Software Engineer Apprenticeship could be perfect for you.

You'll be supported by your Line Manager, in-work Buddy and Apprenticeship Learning Mentor. While you’re on the scheme, 20% of your time will be dedicated to ‘off the job learning’, which can include attending workshops, shadowing, reading and completing assignments. This means that 80% of your role will involve applying your learning to help build the Bank of the Future.

Is the Software Engineer Apprenticeship for you?

We’re looking for people with passion, people with potential. Ideally, you’ll be a fantastic collaborator who loves using data and tech to find innovative solutions to everyday problems. You’ll also be rich in logical and creative thinking skills – and detailed and organised in your approach.

In return, we’ll offer you a competitive package which includes salary, bonus, a generous pension contribution, an attractive path of progression and flex cash to spend on a host of benefits to suit your lifestyle. At Lloyds Banking Group, we have a long track record of flexible working, and we’re always open to new ways of improving our people’s work-life balance, therefore open to discussion on working patterns and working hours.

What you’ll learn on the Software Engineer Apprenticeship

We’ll support your study for a fully funded Level 4 Software Developer apprenticeship, with the opportunity to then progress onto a Level 6 Degree apprenticeship in Digital & Technology Solutions with one of our partner universities.

Day to day, you’ll learn how to write code and operate at all stages of the software development lifecycle. We’ll also teach you how to build, lead and deploy that code into customer and business environments.
