ELIGIBILITY
WHAT ARE THE MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY?

For the Software Engineering industrial placement you must be in your penultimate year at any university, and on track to achieve a 2:2 or above. There is no requirement for UCAS points.

HOW DO I PROVE THAT I AM ON TRACK TO ACHIEVE A MINIMUM OF A 2:2 DEGREE?

We will ask for your previous transcripts. These should confirm that you have, to date, achieved a 2.2 or above, and that you are on track to achieve this on completion of your degree.

I REQUIRE SPONSORSHIP TO WORK WITHIN THE UK, IS THIS SOMETHING LLOYDS BANKING GROUP CAN PROVIDE?

Lloyds Banking Group will not be able to offer sponsorship for the Engineering Industrial Placement Programme.

I HAVE AN INTERNATIONAL QUALIFICATION, HOW WILL MY ELIGIBILITY BE ASSESSED?

You’ll need to provide the full details of your qualification with your application, which we’ll then verify using NARIC, a tool that assesses the conversion of international qualifications to their UK-recognised equivalent. If your qualification meets the same standard as the minimum UK-recognised equivalent, we will be happy to proceed with your application.

APPLICATION PROCESS
WHEN IS THE DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS?

While we have planned closing dates, we may close a programme early if we receive a sufficient number of high-quality applications, so we recommend you make your application promptly.

For the best experience, you should access the assessments using a common operating system and browser (i.e. Google Chrome, Opera or Firefox). We would also recommend, that you access the system using a computer/laptop with a strong Wi-Fi connection.

I CURRENTLY WORK FOR LLOYDS BANKING GROUP. CAN I APPLY FOR THE INDUSTRIAL PLACEMENT PROGRAMME?

Those working part time for Lloyds Banking Group while they study, are in their penultimate year of university and on track to achieve a 2:2 degree or above, will be assessed in the same way as external candidates.

If you wish to apply, please do so via the internal job board and use an external email address in your application. You will also need to use your own device to access and complete the online assessments.

CAN I JUST SUBMIT A CV INSTEAD?

No, you must submit an online application form and complete the assessments.

WHY DOES THE APPLICATION FORM INCLUDE QUESTIONS ABOUT DIVERSITY?

The point of this is to ensure we are providing equal opportunities. It’s not compulsory to answer these questions but all information is recorded anonymously, and the data collected helps us ensure we offer a fair and transparent application process.

I HAVE REQUESTED A NEW PASSWORD BUT HAVEN’T RECEIVED ANYTHING YET, AND CAN’T SIGN INTO MY CANDIDATE PORTAL

WHAT IS THE DISABILITY CONFIDENT SCHEME?

Lloyds Banking Group is committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce, which reflects our customer base and allows us to benefit from the widest pool of talent. If you have a disability, long-term health or neurodiverse condition you are eligible to apply via our Disability Confident Scheme (DCS).

The Disability Confident Scheme (DCS) allows eligible candidates who meet the minimum application criteria, to progress through the assessment stages as long as they meet or exceed 90% of the standard progression benchmark for the scheme applied for.

As part of our Disability Confident Scheme (DCS), within the application should you tick the box to declare you are eligible, we may require further information in due course.

What do we mean by disability?
The Equality Act 2010 describes people with disabilities, long term health or neuro-diverse conditions as someone who has a physical or mental impairment which has a substantial and adverse long-term effect on his or her ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities.

IF I HAVE A DISABILITY, DO I HAVE TO TICK THE DISABILITY CONFIDENT SCHEME BOX?

Not at all, you will still be entitled to reasonable adjustments throughout the assessment process. Ultimately, we just want to give you the best chance to demonstrate your skills and capabilities, and an equal opportunity of success.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I’VE SUBMITTED MY APPLICATION?

HOW DO YOU ASSESS MY SKILLS, AND WHETHER I’M RIGHT FOR THE PROGRAMME?

CAN I RETAKE THE ONLINE ASSESSMENTS AGAIN IF I FAIL THE FIRST TIME?

Unfortunately, to be fair and consistent to all candidates and what we are assessing you against, you will not be able to sit the tests again.

I MAY NEED HELP WITH CERTAIN PARTS OF THE PROCESS. WHO CAN I CONTACT ABOUT THIS?

We recognise that everyone is different and at Lloyds Banking Group we want to ensure that every candidate feels comfortable and is given the opportunity to perform at their best. If you are a person with a disability, or if you have a condition that you believe may affect your performance during the selection process, we would be happy to make adjustments or accommodations for you to enable you to complete the process on an equal basis.

Further detail on our assessments are provided below with the opportunity for you to inform us of any adjustments you may require. WHAT KIND OF REASONABLE ADJUSTMENTS CAN BE MADE?

Adjustments vary greatly depending on the specific needs or circumstances of the individual and the best way to identify the most suitable adjustments is for us to speak with you, which will allow us to determine what adjustments would be most appropriate for you.

Additionally, the assessments themselves have accessibility features that may help you, including adjustable font sizes, subtitles on videos, writing styles and layouts.

HOW CAN LLOYDS BANKING GROUP SUPPORT CANDIDATES WITH A NEURO-DIVERSE CONDITION?

At Lloyds Banking Group we are committed to the employment and career development of people with neuro-diverse conditions. Neurodiversity covers a whole range of conditions but is not limited to including Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia and Dyspraxia. Within the application form there is an option to disclose and select if you have a neuro-diverse condition. If you select ‘yes’ to the neurodiversity question a member of our team will contact you to discuss further. Please do not complete the online assessment until you have spoken with a member of the team, we will discuss your individual circumstances and whether any reasonable adjustments are applied through the assessment process.

I MISSED THE DEADLINE FOR THE ONLINE ASSESSMENTS , CAN I HAVE AN EXTENSION?

CAN I COMPLETE THE ASSESSMENTS WHILE I'M ABROAD?

Yes. All the assessments prior to the Assessment Day can be completed online at a time and place that suits you. We recommend you pick somewhere quiet though, and it’s a good idea to turn off your mobile phone.

CAN I HAVE FEEDBACK ON MY TESTS?

While we can’t provide individual results, you will receive an Insights report after completing the Online Assessment, which will help you understand more about your strengths and areas of development. It does not, however, indicate whether you've made it to the next stage.

WHAT DOES THE VIRTUAL ASSESSMENT DAY INVOLVE?

Everyone has their own unique combination of strengths and areas for development, so we want to see the ‘real you.’ We’re not expecting perfect performances, so the best way to prepare is by thinking about your natural strengths – the things you enjoy doing and are good at. WHAT TECHNOLOGY AND ENVIRONMENT DO I NEED TO ATTEND THE VIRTUAL ASSESSMENT DAY?

We use Microsoft Teams to run our virtual assessment days. You will require access to a laptop/iPad and a good internet connection for the full day, and ideally somewhere to sit where you can be free from distractions.

Microsoft Teams can be accessed via a mobile phone however as you will be required to review information on screen we recommend that you use a larger screen such as a laptop or iPad.

We appreciate that not all candidates will have access to a laptop/iPad and a good internet connection as we all have different home environments. If this would be a concern, please do contact us if you wish to discuss as we are able to provide laptop access within one of the Lloyds Banking Group offices. If you are required to travel to one of our offices we will also discuss your travel expenses and how Lloyds Banking Group can support with these.

WHEN DO THE VIRTUAL ASSESSMENT DAYS TAKE PLACE?

We will advise you of the scheduled dates for your programme nearer the time so that you can keep the date free.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR THE ASSESSMENTS?

Our Candidate Preparation Hub is a great place to start before completing any of the assessments. It provides further information on our strengths based approach and hints and tips on how to best prepare for the assessment.
